Should the first inter island ferry gracing Hawaii in a generation remain inoperable due to politics?

In Hawaii, a new giant ferry, a 450 foot ocean liner capable of carrying 286 cars and 866 passangers arived with great fanfare last week, only to have the Siera club and locals decry its presence. Hawaii is incredible liberal, a sort of 60’s type mantality, whose more vocal opponents criticize the boat as violating environmental laws and don’t wish laborers the ability to move from island to island easily. The boat cost 85 million, and pumped 100 million into various local Hawaiian expenditures. I think this is myopic and a destructive waste of time. Leave it to Hawaii to stop a business that they so desperately require!
