Any recommendations for private k-12 schools on Oahu or the Big Island of Hawaii?

My family will be transferring there (we can choose between the two islands) and I am concerned that I’ve only heard negatives about the schools in Hawaii. I have a strongly academic 8th grader, and a rather non-academic 4th grader who needs to be challenged and pushed. Would this move be dooming them academically?
